Sydney Test brouhaha - really, Mr. Waugh

So a lot of people are up in arms about the Sydney Test (for those who actually haven't heard about it, here you go). Now I won't really add to the stuff already said, but, I chanced upon this article, where Mr. Waugh goes:

"Teams playing against Australia fail to understand that banter, gamesmanship, sledging or whatever anyone would like to call it is just the way Australian kids joust and play in the schoolyard and backyards."

So what does this say: Whatever they do unto others, is 'just the way they joust and play', it's 'their culture'. But whatever gets done unto them, is black-and-white racism???

There is no denying that racism needs to be dealt with severely. There is also perhaps no denying that something must have been said - if not in the Sydney Test, then at least by the spectators in Mumbai. Has someone taken a moment to think about whether the comments were actually racially inspired or 'just a joust and play'?

One can write intelligent, logical and cogent english about these episodes. Or one can put it simply the Australian Cricket Team and Cricket Australia and ICC have clearly cheated!

Regarding Mr Waugh's comment

"Teams playing against Australia fail to understand that banter, gamesmanship, sledging or whatever anyone would like to call it is just the way Australian kids joust and play in the schoolyard and backyards."

may i respond as whatever bhajji is alleged to have said was just that!

So why raise hue and cry about it now!

Sure australians are great at cricket but pathetic at sportsmanship.

Regarding, ICC, I think Mr Speed, Mr Procter are clearly challenged on the intelligence and integrity front! To have allowed such a match to proceed in the first place after such brazen cheating by Australia and wanton display of incompetence by Mr Bucknor and Mr Bowden reeks of complete incomptence if not ulterior motives!

So what does it mean for the reader of this comment. Please communicate your views in whatever form you can to anyone who will matter. One can start with Cricket Australia and ICC. Perhaps someone can share their email ids.

Let us not hesitate to make (y)our opinions known!

cheers

The problem is that too many people have blustered on complaining about this.

So obviously, yelling is not the solution... but then what is?

In my rage (possibly overreacting) I got one of the umpires' name wrong. Instead of Mr Bucknor it ought to be Mr Benson. But that does not take away the spirit of what I said.

Like I said for starters, how about writing in one's feelings on this to ICC, CA, BCCI and their officials!
